Matt Neugebauer
Manager & Body Geometry Fit Technician

A self-professed "Bike Nerd" and endurance sports fanatic, Matt Neugebauer has been riding and racing road bikes while working in the bike industry since his college days at the University of Delaware.  A Category 3 "Elite Amateur" road racer and enthusiast for proper bike fit, Matt is the only qualified BG Fit Technician in Delaware.  Never one to forget that how you look is nearly as important as how you ride, he can oftentimes be found in the back shop polishing his bikes.  He recently began training for his first triathlon in five years.

When he's not at work Matt can be found riding his favorite roads in Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania, running around his neighborhood in Trolley Square, or logging laps in the pool at the Brandywine YMCA.  His stable includes an S-Works Tarmac, Serotta Ottrott, Serotta Singolo single-speed road bike, and a Serotta HSG Cyclo-cross bike that serves as his commuter.  He is a recent convert to Campagnolo componentry

Mike Gavagan
Service Manager/Head Mechanic
 
A key member of the Brandywine Cyclery family, Mike has been a part of the bike industry for over 8 years and is knowledgeable of vintage and state of the art bicycle technologies.  He enjoys the shared knowledge of a close-knit network of world cup mechanics with expertise in products from Fox Racing Shox, RockShox, and Specialized Bicycles.  Mike has  provided mechanical support for multiple National Champions including Jeff Bahnson (Junior Male, Cyclo-cross), Ryan Trebon and Barry Wicks (Pro Cyclo-cross and MTB), Weston Schempf (MTB), and Logan Mulally (Junior Male, Dual slalom). In addition to Mike's mechanical ability he is also a well rounded cyclist competing in Downhill MTB races, cyclo-cross, road time-trials, and is currently training for an olympic distance triathlon.

Steve Neugebauer
General Manager

A self professed exercise addict/cardio junkie, Steve likes nothing more than to hit the road for Long, Interval or Hill Run.  Since the shop opened, Steve has also added road cycling to his list of must do activities.  Steve would also like to thank his loving wife Kristen, and son Ayden, for all their support in his athletic and professional endeavors.  "You guys rock!"

Tom Neugebauer
Founding Father

A 40 year veteran of the construction and equipment industry, Tom has most recently spent time as an owner of LRC based in Marcus Hook, PA.  Roles as a dedicated family man and passionate cyclist have lead to Tom’s foray into the world of bicycle shop ownership.  Fueled by a desire to be the best cycle shop in Delaware, and the tri state area, Tom & Matt teamed with Specialized to create a “Biker’s Paradise” right in the heart of North Wilmington.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys training for local duathlon’s and 5k’s.  When not hitting the road cycling or running, Tom is a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan who doesn’t miss a game.

Tom’s current bike of choice:  Specialized Tarmac SL2.


Nancy Neugebauer
Shop Mom

After recently “retiring”  from her job as the full time head nurse at Silverside Medical Aid Unit, Nancy diligently keeps up with all the record keeping for Brandywine Cyclery.  Always quick with a kind word, and loads of encouragement, Nancy has been adopted by all the boys at Brandywine Cyclery as our “Shop Mom.”

In her spare time, Nancy enjoys walking and biking all over North Wilmington with her friends.

George Weiler

George is a new member to the world of cycling and the Brandywine Cyclery staff. He recently graduated Mount Pleasant High School, and is attending the University of Delaware next year. During his freshman year of college George plans to be an active member of the UD cycling team, and stay mentally fit with a Social Science major. He loves the close knit staff of Brandywine Cyclery and the athletic/competitive attitude that goes with it. He is learning alot about bicycle mechanics and hopes to be a usefull technician next year on the UD cycling team.

Alex Weiler
 
Alex just finished his freshman year at the University of Maryland in College Park where he competed as a varsity track athlete, as well as a member of the UMD cycling team. This last season being his first race season he finished first in the collegiate category 4/5 feild. He is also now the president of the UMD Cycling team and hopes to help the A team go to collegiate road nationals this year. You may see him training for his upcoming cross country season for the Terps in Brandywine Creek State Park or Bellevue, or working on his Category 3 Road Cycling upgrade. Alex is happy to be adopted into the Brandywine Cyclery family.
